Well, while WO is certainly not the most covered technology on the net,
this is not the only resource. Omni mailing lists come to mind, along
with some nice sites: <http://wodev.spearway.com>,
<http://www.wocode.com>, <http://www.stepwise.com>,
<http://wonder.sourceforge.net> among others...
Is this a dieing technology? Is it being replaced? Apple makes very
little reference to it in their training and WWDC makes it seem like
it died 3 years ago. All other technologies are up beat saying, this
is what we are doing. Webobjects presentations are, this is what
we've done.
WO WWDC sessions this year were grouped under the Enterprise IT
section. I see that as a good sign, but maybe I'm just optimistic...
I'm at a crucial junction in my decision making. .Net is not an
option, Struts sucks, and Tapestry looks very good. My current debate
is between a Tapestry/Hibernate model or going with WebObjects. I
would like to know what kind of work is being done for the future of
webobjects and what will drive it into the future?
Apple does not discuss their plans for the future as usual, and I
wont's argue whether it's a good policy or not. That does not mean that
there's nothing new around the corner.
