Hi JP,
I did a 10.2.8 to 10.3. Upgrade failed on the #2 CD, but I didn't
select to do an 'Easy' install.
Ran it again as Easy and it ran OK the second round. Kept all of my
settings that I can tell. Then installed the XCode Developer CD, that
ran just fine too. Then ran the Update via System preferences and all
is well.
Apple's update recommends going in that order BTW. You need to install
the XCode Developer BEFORE you perform the udpate to 5.2.2.
Seems like everything here is working just fine.
Have fun - Panther is an amazing upgrade. MUCH faster. Unbelievably
so and worth the effort to move to just in productivity gains alone.
Best regards...Bob

Hi,
Can I just update my MacOS 10.2.8 machine to MacOS 10.3 (not a clean
install), then update to 5.2.2?
I mean, will upgrading to Panther preserve my current (5.2.1) WO
installation, and MySQL database server (located in /usr/local/bin/)?
Or shall I have to reinstall all that after Panther update and before
updating WO to 5.2.2?
A lot of people recommend doing clean install. As anyone succeeded
with just doing an update install on a WO development machine?
I know I should wait a little bit beforee updating. But I am on
Holidays, and afterwards, I won't have time to take care of this.
Thanks.
JP.
