WO5.2.1 -> WO5.2.2 trouble

I've been rebuilding some of my projects with XCode and WO5.2.2 -- two projects have compiled OK, but failed to run with the following error:
<main> Cannot load class with name com.webobjects.eocontrol.EOCustomObject
java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method)
at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:140)
at com.webobjects.appserver.WOApplication.class$(WOApplication.java:185)
at com.webobjects.appserver.WOApplication.<clinit>(WOApplication.java:185)
at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)
at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39)
at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25)
at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:324)
at com.webobjects._bootstrap.WOBootstrap.main(WOBootstrap.java:71)
... any ideas, anyone? I'll keep hunting for reasons but thought somebody else might have been there before me if its a systemic error ... Gav
