Thanks Ray,
Interesting solution, had the right ring to it, and it worked half of
the way, (the more annoying part was fixed).
That whole styles pane is intriguing in its implementation, there seems
to be a tug of war between it and the <Edit Active Target> pane.
Just for clarity for lurkers, it's
Styles
Customized Settings
Click + at bottom of screen
Add <DSTROOT> with value <~/Desktop>
After the <DSTROOT> change the annoying folder in <tmp> is no longer
created, which had forced a trip to Terminal.
However:
1) I still can't build with Installation Location set to <None>
2) With the Installation Location <on> with path set to
</Users/baiss/Installs>, the build succeeds if all the previous folders
are deleted.
3) The build process creates on the Desktop a file ( it is a package
with 2 plists inside, and will give an error if you try to double-click
it) with the annoying location of:
</Users/baiss/Desktop/Users/baiss/Installs/nwSufis.woa>
and this file and all of the <build> folder in the project still must
be deleted between builds.

Baiss,
The solution recommended to me was to set your DSTROOT to ~/Desktop.
Do this in the styles part of "Get Info" on the project itself
(assuming you are using Xcode).
This will put the resulting files in a hierarchy of folders on your
desktop. Just transfer them to where they are supposed to go.
Ray.

If I do a Deploy build and have the <Installation Location> set to a
specific path I get permission errors in several locations the most
annoying being a folder which is in
</tmp/WOApp.dst>
and I am forced to use Terminal to remove it, every time I build plus
remove the old build folder in the project directory.
