It is way too much code for *you* to write. I use named fetchspecs
exclusively, and I don't write this code. Instead, EOGenerator writes

I concur.
I've used eogenerator for a long time, but never really got around to
investigating it's full capabilities until recently. I'm glad I did,
the code *I* have to write and maintain is much thinner for the effort.
