XCode project index invalid

I have a project where (I think) the index has become corrupt, and I
can't seem to get it to rebuild properly. The error I get is:
"An exception occurred while indexing "swizzleProject":
Unable to delete reference record 10936 for EODatedObject (1032)
This requires the index to be rebuilt."
I click the rebuild index button the dialog box offers, and it
rebuilds (or at least the cpu gets very busy for a minute or so). Then
a few minutes later I get the same error message (usually when I
save). I have tried turning project indexing off and back on.
Restarting xcode, rebuilding via the project inspector, and rebooting
to no avail.
Where is the index stored? Can I manually delete it to force index recreation?
