Unfortunately I can't offer you a solution - but if it makes you feel any better I haven't had any luck getting those tutorials to work either. There are even conflicts within the document (eg instructions say to use a certain class, but the diagram shows a different one) and they seem to be well out of date.

I have put a bug report in (about a year back?) but still awaiting updated documentation.
