Im trying to get WO to run on a Windows XP box. I installed
it from a 5.2 CD, ran the 5.2.3 update. Set WOTaskDemon to
start up as a service on start up ( Ive checked that its
running on port 1085). However when I lauch javamonitor and
try and go to its first page I recive the following output
in the cmd line.

I believe I recall the reason being that you didn't install the international version of Java on your Windows box. The international version should be available at Sun's Java Web site. Someone will certainly correct me if I'm wrong.
