Yes, if you run out of memory in the JVM - all bets are off. Anything
might happen. Sometimes you can catch this in the Application method
handleException and deal with it like this:
// Handle java.lang.VirtualMachineError (probably OutOfMemory)
// by terminating the app abruptly.
if ( (anException instanceof NSForwardException) &&
(((NSForwardException) anException).originalException()
instanceof VirtualMachineError) )
{
Runtime.getRuntime().exit(1);
}
You will need to increase the size of your JVM heap to avoid this problem.

Looks to me like an error returned by the DB for a bad query. You
will need to look at your model, the Statistics constructor, and
probably a log of the SQL sent to the DB before you can go further
with this. I've never seen anything like this one before.
Perhaps these exceptions have nothing to do with the number of
connections. But, while digging in my log files, I found the first
exception after which all other exceptions where thrown:
[2004-02-03 16:22:19 CET] <WorkerThread26>
<com.webobjects.appserver._private.WOComponentRequestHandler>: Exception
occurred while handling request:
com.webobjects.foundation.NSForwardException
[java.lang.OutOfMemoryError] null
[2004-02-03 16:22:20 CET] <WorkerThread26>
com.webobjects.foundation.NSForwardException for java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
This exception was the first exception that occured today and there was
not a single exception yesterday. After this most things just didn't
seem to work anymore. Can this be the cause?
