Daniel,
I take back what I said. Going back to the web site and reading the
blurb, I had overlooked that the readers voted for the products (not
just nominated them). And considering that, I agree that it is harder
to get enough votes to attain a good placing when you are in minor
player than when everyone knows about you.
In the same way, I expect McDonalds would place well in favourite
places to eat compared to the local diner - even though no one would
claim McDs is the kind of place we would like all eateries to copy.
I had mistakenly assumed that the products were nominated, and the
"judges" had then assessed the products themselves.
Congratulations Apple. I'm sure you know what you are doing with your
marketing strategies. Who knows what you have planned.
Ray.

Ray,
I think this an achievement considering: the lack or inadequate
marketing job from Apple and the small amount of people who use WO.
Even in my case, who I'm a convinced developer of this tool I never
vote for WO in this or any other poll. I asked many other WO developer
from other companies if they voted in this poll and none of them using
this tool voted for WO. Considering this facts, I think that get a
first place in any category is a great success, I think that we can
expect to have more first/second places for the next year.
What is clear is that Apple has none experience/success to market
products in the corporate arena and that WO has this success in spite
of Apple.
