pbx scripting question

With PBX (OSX 10.2.8, WO 5.2.1), is there any way to tell from the command line whether a project needs compiling? That is, if there are any changed files requiring a recompile? PBX knows somehow, right?

This is for scripting purposes. For deployment, I have a script that compiles all of my (many) app and framework projects, and then packages them all up in a .zip for deployment on my Solaris machine. I'd like to improve the script, so it doesn't bother compiling/packaging projects that don't in fact need it, cause they don't have any changes. Any ideas?
