Subject: WO 5.1 -> 5.2

hi
about 2-3 years ago i purchased a copy of WO 5.1, and for various reasons
i've never used it (the box still has the shrink wrap plastic on it).
anyway - i'm interested in coming up to speed on all the latest java
technologies wrt web development (i.e. servlet api, jsp, and J2EE ) and i
thought it might be time to re-examine WO. can i use 5.1 on mac os 10.3.2
and somehow upgrade the specific pieces i want (i.e. servlet api/jsp via
the latest version of tomcat, and J2EE ) to their latest and greatest ?
or should i upgrade to WO 5.2 - which brings me to the real problem, which
is the fact that there is no upgrade from 5.1 to 5.2. at least that is
what Apple is telling me. is that true, and if it is - is anyone else
upset at the fact that there is no upgrade path from 5.1 to 5.2 ?
Some people can get cought out here if they purchase an older version on the
cusp of a new release... I did when WebObjects went from version 4.5.1 (or
something like that) to version 5.0, however, I spoke to Apple about it and
they kindly sent me version 5.0 free of charge after prooving date of
purchase, otherwise that's just the way it is mate.
The fact that you've been sitting on your version for some time hasn't done
you any favors.
Jonathan :^)
thanks
dave
