I would prefer a newgroup for some of this traffic.  Google can search those
as well.

However, for a quick NNTP fix go to Gmane.org.  Unfortunately, that only
covers the Omnigroup's
mailing lists.  And you still have to be subscribed in order to post.  Well,
it's a hack but a useable one
nonetheless.
