Plenty of people know... the real question is "can they tell you" ;-)

I long for the day when whoever (I can guess) makes the policy at Apple finally twigs that while secrecy followed by dramatic announcement is great for consumer products, it is a really destructive way to deal with business users.

People in business try to plan months or even years in advance. They are not likely to trust a company that appears to have no future plans at all.

We (on this and similar lists) all appreciate that great products don't just appear by accident, but when I'm in a potential client's office and I suggest that this project could be done on Macintosh they naturally worry about the future. Apple's public stance in this case is "Future? - we know nothing about the future. We have no fixes, upgrades or products planned."
