Surprisely, when I initially started to look at WO I immediately went
to http://www.theServerSide.com and found absolutely NOTHING on WO.
I did a plain search and got 63 hits....at least the first were
articles devoted to releases of WO...
Until java developers & IT management using Struts or JSP or Tapestry
or any other web technology (even .NET) read a lucid and clear article
on WO technology or techniques, they most like will not head to the
proposed website.
Well, if there IS a good website with this "explain-convince-market"
approach then the chance people getting there is bigger than if there
is none at all. Even if we maybe cannot afford extensive advertising
there is much to do with namedropping, writing articles and generating
news for different news sites. Maybe even an interview in some magazine
if we find the right "interesting angle".
Another key issue for a site is as I said before - comparisons. That
way the chance of people interesting in other technologies will come to
us is bigger if they are looking for information about J2EE, .Net and
stumble over WO...
The key is to make it right and involve many people in a collaborative
process...a true community...and then find a way of integrating
existing sources...maybe some of todays WO-sites providers actually
would consider gather under "one hat"....
Regards,
Alexandra
