Cross-Platform CoreData

Okay, so Apple is killing of EO... got that.  My question is, if
everyone is using CoreData from that point forward, then I assume there
will be no ability to host on any other platform.  Is that correct?
Will there by an alternative to CoreData?  Is EO really being tossed.

I know nobody knows... uh, yeah... but any ideas?
