I've used both OpenBase and FrontBase and I'd strongly recommend
FrontBase http://www.FrontBase.com

[as you can probably guess, I'm just getting started out with
WebObjects... it looks really cool so far!]
Another newbie question:
In going through the tutorial examples on Web Apps with databases, the
OpenBase application is used. I presume this was installed as part of
WO, but when I ran it it prompted to do an upgrade. I ran the
upgrade, but then was asked for a license key which I of course do not
have. I acquired a personal license to run the upgrade, but am
wondering under what licensing the original installation of OpenBase
would have shipped.
Did I make a mistake by clobbering an out-of-date but fully functional
copy of OpenBase? Was this in fact installed as part of WebObjects?
At some point we may want to run a live database through webobjects.
What options are there? The academic pricing for OpenBase (which we'd
presumably qualify for) looked reasonable.
Thanks again for any tips on this.
Rick
