Mac. 10.3.4, fwiw.
I was asking because my Airport is currently very unreliable, but
still, the apps start and work. I'm using the .local. namespace, and
leave WOHost unset. (Under Eclipse, but I don't see why XCode should
be different). The only thing that does not work is testing stuff
under VPC, because it does not like the network breakdowns.
I haven't had any problem with developing on Xcode without a network
connection in a long time.
If I remember correctly the last time it bit me was because IE/Mac
didn't like "localhost" preferring 127.0.0.1 instead. I don't use IE
anymore, so that "bug" went away :-)
