In regards "human readable URLs" it has been something of a sore point for WO developers. I think WebObjects was even publicly railed against for its URL generation strategy.


My position is that there are two types of URLs: the human friendly kind and the application friendly kind. What irks me is when people say all URLs must be "bookmarkable." The poor thinking can be illustrated thusly:

1) I am in the middle of a 3 page registration process; i.e. I'm on the second page.
2) I bookmark it and don't return for 3 weeks.
3) Should it work?


Sure, make the pages that a user will actually want to remember have nice URLs. But imposing that dictat on an entire site with dynamic ability doesn't make a lot of sense.
