HI all,
I know there has been some discussion on this in the past, but I can't quite
get my head around the split install etc.
So, the situation is that at the moment I have quite a few absolute image
references in my WO app. I would prefer that these were relative as I think
that might sort the SSL problem.
Basically what I need to know is, if I use a 'split-install' which I am not
really sure how to do exactly, will WO automatically look in the document
root for the images if the URLs in my app are relative? In development, it
seems to be looking for the images in the Web Server Resources folder in my
WO App package. This is not what I want as it is not able to find the
images.
The main reason this is an issue is because I am using some SSL and some
plain URLs. Some images on a page for example might need to be secure or
not, depending on the rest of the page.
Of course, if the page is secure and the images aren't, then we get the
normal "There are secure and non-secure items..." message. I don't want
this, although I don't know if that specifically nullifies the security
completely or just for those items.
I figure if the image URLs can be relative and WO can find them in the
Document Root folder on the web server, then the URL prefix (http:// or
https://) would be irrelevant and that would solve it.
Could someone give me a quick rundown on what's the best approach here?
Regards,
David.
P.s. I cross posted coz it really relates to both I think.
