Don't think so.. I was using 'c' and it was working perfectly with
5.2.2 and 1.4.2 before I did my upgrade to 10.3.3 and 5.2.3

ISSUE:
Specifying an attribute that mapped to a single byte external
database type with a value type of 'b' and NSNumber value class was
broken.
RESOLUTION:
This specific case has been enabled.
