list of coding suggestions for performance?

  • Subject: list of coding suggestions for performance?

In the doc "Deploying Applications," in the chapter "Application Administration," in the subsection "Improving Performance," it states:

Make sure that the applications are written to perform optimally. The WebObjects developer documentation contains coding suggestions that help improve the performance of WebObjects applications.

I have looked for quite some time, and cannot find even a chapter subsection along the lines of "Coding suggestions for performance." Then again, I have been known to overlook the obvious at times. Where are these suggestions? Are they scattered about, or is there one place where they are all listed? I'm hoping to find a list of different actions, different ways of coding the action, and the speed and overhead of each way. As an example, there are several ways of getting records from a database; assuming the same number of records, which way is fastest, and which way uses the least memory?

Does anyone know where I can find such a list, or any other performance optimizing tips?

Thanks,
Nathan
