I am sure that from time to time this topic has been broached by this
list, but I have not seen a discussion of it lately. I have two
questions: One is about development workflow, the second is about Web
development tools with WebObjects support.
My WebObjects applications development team includes WebObjects
programmers and a GUI developer. Right now, the GUI developer puts
together UI's in HTML with SSI Includes documents for each sub component.
The programmers then take her HTML and have to do a bit of work to add
the WO elements to the HTML and then bind them.
1) How are others approaching this type of workflow problem? (I realize
that for small shops GUI and WO programming may be done by the same
person, so I am really asking for larger shops or projects where you are
working with someone else's GUI designer).
In the past there has been WO plugins for Dreamweaver (though I think
that support died when MacroMedia became the owner of Cold Fusion) and it
appears that there has been support for WO development in GoLive (makes
sense since the Adobe site is a WebObjects site). However, I cannot find
much information about this, and there is not any information
2) Does anyone have any familiarity with WO integration in these or other
Web design/development tools? If so is the effort worth the payoff?
Thanks.
Robert
