You're making little sense in the context of how page wrappers and WOComponentContent works. Your page wrapper is "static". The component content is what changes.
What you are describing seems to me to be the behaviour I would expect. What sort of behaviour are you trying to achieve?

it has a popup to refresh a portfolio. that user has a default page set for that portfolio.

the new page, which also has the same componentcontainer doesn't seem to refresh.
Maybe I am blind, or missing something obvious, or have some architectural problem. This was all created before
