WO and a Quicktime Movie using SMIL

I see that <WOQuicktime> is deprecated in favor of <SMIL> ala
<http://developer.apple.com/documentation/WebObjects/ Developing_SMIL_Presentation/CreatingPresentations/ Creating_a__resentation.html>

I followed the, rather unbelievable to me, innumerable steps, to create a partial component with all the SMIL attributes.
Using a Submit button I invoke the <pageWithName> of the partial component.

At this point the server downloads a <x.smil> file to the client but no new page is brought up.

If I go to the file <x.smil> in Finder it knows it's a video file but displays my <alt> text saying the "movie could not be found".

I'm missing basic functionality here.

1) I would like the movie to automatically open and play when the Submit button is clicked.

Has anybody succeeded in getting SMIL to work as I wish?

Here's the WO generated <src> tag of the <x.smil> file.
