Can't edit fields in WebObjects Builder Inspector

The subject line says it all.
I have a not-so-simple (html) page open in WebObjects Builder. At
times, the Inspector does not permit any text field to be edited. I can
change radio buttons, but not the text fields.
Has any one else seen this? And is there a work-around/fix?
Is there an alternative template builder to WebObjects Builder?
