Dear all,

Is there a simple way in which I can check whether a given editing context is locked or not?

Sure, as nearly always ... use Project Wonder's ERExtensions framework. Use the EditingContext factory ERXEC.newEditingContext() to get an editingcontext. This one is an instanceof ERXEC and hence can tell you if its locked or not. Check the API.
