I just went through this and I'm having success with the download from
Microsoft's site.  I've not entirely completed my project, but it seems to
work fine.

I'm using " MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2000 DRIVER FOR JDBC".  I'm a newbie and
had lots of trouble getting off the ground - feel free to contact me
directly or via the list, I'm glad to help  get you over the humps I've
gotten over thus far.
