How about an in browser WYSIWYG editor?
http://www.interactivetools.com/products/htmlarea/
http://www.ephox.com/product/editliveforjava/default.asp
etc.: http://www.bris.ac.uk/is/projects/cms/ttw/ttw.html#cbrte
I'm looking at integrating one or more of these with WO right now.
None are all that great (slow or JS based or buggy or only support some
browsers) but one of them might suit your needs.

Has anyone seen a Java based library out there that takes text from a
TEXTAREA (or any input) and converts it to HTML.
We're looking for something like this:
http://www.textism.com/tools/textile/?sample=2
It takes the TEXTAREA input, does basic conversion like CR to <BR> and
also accepts special formatting codes (ala UBB or VBB Web forums) that
are translated in HTML.
Anything like that out there?
