Are you using WebObjects 5.2.3? If so, NullPointerExceptions abound in the places you'd least expect them, and the data still gets saved to the database. If you're using 5.2.3, you need to downgrade to 5.2.2 until Apple fixes this bug. I'd also advise that you file a bug report with them so they know there are some of us out here using WebObjects to develop JavaClient applications.

If you're using 5.2.2 then I'm sorry I can't help you with your problem. I'll look at the thread next week and see if I can offer any input.
