Over the years, like many of us I'm sure, I've applied many updates
to my development system. I believe I'm as up to date as I can be
today (WO 5.2.3 / XCode 1.5 / Java 1.4.2_05), but XCode is behaving a
little oddly.
Reading the Apple Tech Note
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107873
dated Feb23/04, tells me:
If you are creating a new Mac OS X WebObjects 5.2.3 development
system, you should install the software in the following order:
1. Install Mac OS X 10.3
2. Update to Mac OS X 10.3.3
3. Xcode Developer tools CD
4. Xcode 1.1 Software Update
5. WebObjects 5.2 Developer
6. WebObjects 5.2.2 Developer
7. WebObjects 5.2.3 Developer
My current PowerBook was purchased between #4 and #5 above, so I've
done steps #5-7, followed by at least one Java update via Software
Update, and then XCode 1.5 recently. My problem is that now, in
XCode 1.5, when I use the "New File..." menu pick, a new WOComponent
is not an option (and other things that probably shouldn't be are).
I can, of course, make one 'manually' and add it, but I'd like it to
be right. I can see the many templates that XCode uses for those
"New Project..." and "New File..." picks -- they seem to be scattered
in many places, and it's my suspicion that legacy bits and pieces
have been left around and that XCode 1.5 looks in a different place
than earlier releases did.
I'm sure I can figure this out (or reinstall all the software), but
wondered if anyone has tripped over this before and has derived the
necessary information already?
