Hallo,
I have a application which returns files from the webserver for
download in a sitaution, when the user is logged in. The downlod link
is a Component Action which hands back the file in a WOResponse. This
worked without problems, but since SP2 is out I get error reports from
the customer. Some files are no longer downloadable, an error occurs in
the Browser. His environment is Windows XP/Windows Server 2000 and IE 6.
I can not reproduce this error. Neither on the Mac (thus the affected
files seem to be ok) nor on another Windows XP machine. According to
the customer the error occurs on different machines in his company, so
its not just one machine.
The problem affects .zip, .exe and .doc formats, but, due to the
customer not all of the files of these formats offered for download in
the app. As I'm not able to reproduce the error I cannot test it
myself. The affected files I checked seemed to be ok and had nothing
special which would explain these error messages.
Is there anyone around who has perhaps met with a similiar problem and
can give me some advice? I found something about the security settings
of the browser not allowing downloads of .exe and .zip files any longer
and handed that on to the customer. But the problem seems to be still
around.
