Another reason is that I often deploy in "single directory" (local
frameworks contained inside the *.woa), and that is supported with a
single flag setting in the ant task. I think XCode/xcodebuild may
also offer this option (it has to for servlet deploys, I think), but I
have not explored that.
I'm curious about deployment ...
how do you manage to get WOResourceManager to build proper url for
webserver-resources defined in the frameworks ?
For example, if you have an image in the framework, let's say
"mini-calendar.gif". Usualy the url would be
http://host.com/WebObjects/Frameworks/TheFrameworkName.framework/
Content/WebServerResources/mini-calendar.gif.
All that generated for us by the WOResourceManager.
I've tried to put framework in application package, it does work all
right for java code (.jar for classes are correctly loaded), it does
work for resources (.eomodeld, .strings are loaded correctly), but it
doesn't work for web-server-resources, it look like WOResourceManager
insist that the 'split install' of the framework must be under
/WebObjects/Framework/.
Are you deploying as .war ?
How is it working for web-server-resources ?
Or maybe you only include framework that do not have web-server
resources ?
