Hi Guys,
I'm still looking at the best way (codeless) to takle this problem and have
found half a solution thanks to Daniel Mejia.
Having installed the international/multilingual version of j2sdk1.4.2_07 we
simply copied the charsets.jar located in the \j2sdk1.4.2_07\jre\lib and
pasted it in the JRE located (installed on Windows by default) at \Program
Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_07\lib. this is working for the dev box but following
the same instruction for the deployment box has not rewarded the same
results, i'm still getting the exception page. By the way the charsets.jar
was re-named so since jave 1.4.2 from i18n.jar in earlier versions that
contain the encoding converters needed for MacRoman.
Does anyone know if there is something missing, however, bare in mind that
I'm not able to get the deployment box rebooted for a few days as it is a
shared server but I did not have to do this for the development box and it
worked straight after the paste of the charsets.jar.
Regards
Jonathan :^)
Ps. if there are no further solutions to the problem, don't worry, you've
already suplied a few workarounds on this subject. Thanks.
