[Xcode on Server]
This is what we do. If it is a bad idea, then I guess we are bad :-)
There were issues in the past. I wasn't able to build and run an
application on Mac OS X Server 10.2.x. So, personally I can't
recommend doing that.
Also i've bumped into problems trying to connect to MySQL
database. Something with permissions.
You should be able to remedy those quite easily. We use MySQL
pretty exclusively for our applications.
We sometimes use MySQL - but permission errors with the DB don't
belong to this group.
What are the limitations of this developer version compared to
full featured OpenBase?
Check with OpenBase, I believe they have a comparison of all of
their licenses and the limitations they impose on their site.
As all DBs have there own advantages and problems, I would choose one
for deployment and use the same for development. We have a db machine
for deployment and one for development and testing. This works fine.
