As with most developer tools that get little attention in the testing arena, after a few weeks of using it, you'll wonder how you produced the errors in the first place :)

Daniel,

This has been around for some time and is not isolated to EOModeler. It all depends on the way the UI elements get put together. The same things happens with the firewall settings on Panther Server (it has been "fixed" in Tiger Server).

I put fixed in quotes above because this seems to be a choice the programmer makes when they build the UI. Basically, you need to hit the return key *a lot* to ensure that the interface has accepted your input. Just entering data and hitting the tab key doesn't always do it. If you open the offending nib file I bet you will see that the radio button is chosen for "Enter only" instead of "End editing" for the "Send Action On:" Attribute. So, get used to entering a value and then hitting the enter key!

Hi all,

I'm new to WebObjects, so 5.3 is the first I've seen. I like WO more by the minute, but EOModeler is driving me nuts. It keeps 'forgetting' the database column I have entered. The idea of having prototypes is neat, but also this information sometimes mysteriously disappears. Not to speak of validation: It is a nice feature, but at times only some entities are validated, while others are allowed to be invalid without warning. Frustration, frustration...

Is this a 5.3 problem, or has this kind of stuff been around for some time?

Has anyone thought about creating an open source EOModeler clone? I was _this_ close to starting off on some project like that.

/Daniel
