Hi, Clive,
Heh, I'm pleased you've gotten it working again. I find that Xcode
behaves better for me when I think of it as my friend.
Wow. You need a better class of friend. One who does not drink
all the beer in your fridge and then ask for a loan. ;-)
Like all friends, over time, (s)he's done things that I'd rather (s)
he hadn't done. Beer's cheap, loans can be denied. Neither are in the
same class of problems as TRASHING MY F**KING PRODUCTION FILES!!!
(S)He's not done nearly as many things, however, as some other's I've
called friends over the years. I guess you take the good with the bad
until you can't take the bad anymore.*
I think it knows, takes it personally and misbehaves more when you
fear it and call it names, (such as Vexcode, as some might). :-)
Who? Me? :-P
How the heck did you know I had YOU in mind when I said that???? I
thought I had couched it so carefully with words such as "some" and
"might"? :-)
That, however, is just my opinion rather than the erudite
technical advice I usually try to vend on the list (when I'm not
screaming for help).
Happy New Year!
Chuck
Same to ya, Dude! I hope you and the GV guys have delightful
celebrations planned. Canada does celebrate New Years, doesn't it? :-O
On a completely different note...
* Now that I've caught your attention, if you haven't already heard,
I resigned from my active participation in CodeFab early this month
and am working independently. Alex and I still have to work out the
dissolution of my partnership, but that's more a formality at this
point.
I just received, and am reviewing, a short term contract from a
potential client that would take me through March and possibly longer
if I sign, which I probably will. But if you guys have need of an
Xcode based WO consultant, particularly for anything starting up
around March, or for any low level work on about a one day per week
basis, I'd love to discuss the possibilities.
Please note my new email address below (heh, or above). Also, if you
ever want to iChat, I'm at AIM:jerryjwisa. You'll have to email me
your handle first, however, because I closed my list to only named
buddies.
Fond regards (despite my earlier snide comments),
Jerry

Hi, Clive,
I think it's prompting for your project directory in order to
convert
your <projectName>.xcode to a new version called
<projectName>.xcodeproj. You should end up with both project
indexes
in your project directory.
Select the project directory instead of a file and I think it
should
work.

Jerry

I recently rebuilt a powerbook installing MacOS X 10.4.3 and then
installed XCode2.1, followed by WebObjects 5.2 and eht upgrade to
5.2.4
I then tried to open a project I had been working on (using
XCode2.0) and Xcode tells me the project must be upgraded and the
extension given as ".xcodeproj". I then tell it to upgrade and it
prompts for a file to be selected, but then it will not save
anything - I have to cancel.
Has anyone come across this behaviour? Should I uninstall XCode
2.1 and install XCode 2.0?
regards
