Hi!
I guess I should advertise my backtrack detection code here. It is available from my web site at http://homepage.mac.com/i_love_my/code.html
It allows for backtracking detection as well as for corrective actions. E.g. you may want to restore the correct batch number on the display group.

If you try this with Safari - you are right. If you do it with
Firefox/Camino, the batch stays on what you have navigated to the last time.
I think this is a Safari bug, which ignores the "expiration information" of
a page. As far as I remember, we have tested this a year ago with several
browsers and it only happened on Safari (can't test it right now).
