Where do I change the localization. All the api files for my components say "UTF-8" right now. Do I have to change each of these to something else for all my components. Because the problem only arises when I extend application.java from ERXApplication. So there must be a way to set it on ERExtensions. Do you know how? Is there a line of code that needs to set this that I need in Application.java ?

Anything would be extremely helpful, I'm pulling my hair out right now. I love Project Wonder but what is up with this awkwardness ?? why would it change ??

thx

The 'ยค' character is the 'international currency sign', and exists in a number of national character sets in the ISO-646 series, in the same code position as the '$' occupies in US ASCII. You may have some issues involvong character encodings.
