Hi Ute,
I too am looking for something open source or inexpensive to map USA
postal zip codes selected by a user from my zip code DB (I have
centroids in the DB). If you find something let me know please.
Meanwhile, Microsoft have a map-point service that generates maps
...... but that costs a little too much for my situation.
Regards, Kieran

Hallo,
I'm looking for a Java Tool which lets me create a map which has
marked a number of places. I have the zip-code in my database and need
to run through the zips and let the programm put a point for every
.zip - Code on the map. The image will be used in a image map later on
in a WO Application.
I have seen an open source php tool which can create an image with a
single marker for a single place(zip). I would prefer to work with a
Java tool/Class, as my knowledge of php is very limited and the
existing tool would have to be modified.
It would be completely sufficient to have the image created once, save
it under a given name and have the tool creating a new image only when
the database changes and a new point is needed. In all other use cases
the static image could be served by the webServer to the user.
Any idea where to look for this. It will be used for Germany.
Regards,
Ute
