I can't agree with your posting to Omnigroup. It is largely either
incorrect, misleading or out of date.
Most of the stuff that is there in WO still has a useful role today or
exists for backwards compatibility. There is nothing stopping you from
using completely standard modern java stuff wherever you want to.
