What verison of xcode are you using? With at least version 1.1, I can
just create a new direct to webservices application, add an eomodel,
run and it comes up happy with :
[2005-01-18 21:04:45 MST] <main> *** The application has found the
following opened, development-mode ProjectBuilder projects:
(<com.webobjects.appserver._private.WOProjectBundle: projectName='sss';
bundlePath='/Users/seigel/sss/build/sss.woa'; projectPath=''>)
[2005-01-18 21:04:47 MST] <main> Creating LifebeatThread now with: sss
60869 powerbook.cgulsystems.com/10.1.1.77 1085 30000
Welcome to sss!
[2005-01-18 21:04:48 MST] <main> ***** PLEASE NOTE: The assistant will
be available to configure the application. To disable the assistant
use a -WSAssistantEnabled NO flag when you start the application.
[2005-01-18 21:04:54 MST] <main> Opening application's URL in browser:
http://powerbook.cgulsystems.com:60869/cgi-bin/WebObjects/sss.woa
[2005-01-18 21:04:54 MST] <main> Waiting for requests..
Try doing the most basic version and see what you get....very strange
that it isn't located your xcode, to find resources......maybe someone
else has an idea for you.
Cheers
James.

Janes,
Thanks for your reply
The message I get during the build is:
[2005-01-07 17:22:13 GMT] <main> Cannot use rapid turnaround. Please
start Xcode and open the project for this application.
[2005-01-07 17:22:17 GMT] <main> Creating LifebeatThread now with:
Houses

Welcome to Houses!
[2005-01-07 17:22:20 GMT] <main> ***** PLEASE NOTE: Rapid turn-around
is
not active for your application. The assistant will be unavailable to
configure the application since it will be unable to modify your
project's
user.d2wmodel rule file. To completely disable the assistant use a
-WSAssistantEnabled FALSE flag when you start the application.
As mentioned in the run log it is now not possible for the Webservices
assistant to connect to allow you to configure the service. If you try
to connect using Webservices assistant, you get a dialog box telling
you
that Rapid turnaround is not available.
Any suggestions welcome!
Gordon.

What are you failing with? Note: the messages you are seeing wrt
rapid turnaround, aren't a cause for concern.
Though not having used Direct to webservices myself, I have used
WebServices with WebObjects as the vendor....

A while ago I posted a question about a problem I'm having with
direct-to-Web-Services.
I didn't get a lot of response (apart from a helpful suggestion
that I should upgrade to Xcode 1.5 - tried that, no improvement).
So I'd like to ask the question in another way -- is anyone out
there using direct-to-Web Services? This is one of the USPs of WO 5.2
(and the reason I spent my hard-earned on it) but it simply does not
work for me. For the record I've set up the EOModel connecting to a
MySQL database without any trouble by whenever I try to run the WO app
I get messages telling me that rapid turnaround in not enabled
(despite messages in the run log which say that it is). I've trawled
the Internet looking for solutions and while I've found a few entries
in the archives of this mailing list where people have reported the
same problem there are no solutions out there.
I'm using OSX Server 10.3.7, WO 5.2.3 and Xcode 1.5.
Anyone out there succeeding where I am failing?
Gordon.
