How to move files to deployment server

Hello,

I have just switched my server from my LAN to a dedicated IP address. Before, I would just copy my built application files over by connecting directly to the server, mounting it on my development machine's desktop. Yesterday I updated one of my apps by copying the built app over FTP. At a minimum I completely corrupted the MacOSClassPath.txt file and the application wouldn't restart (it took an hour or two to figure that one out). Next I tried using a USB thumb drive (no, not a shuffle, unfortunately ;-) and the corruption happened again. Finally I moved the files to an external FW HD and then moved the HD to the other box. Then copying worked fine. I assume that all this grief is over a permissions problem or something (the development box is running Panther). Has anyone else had an experience like this? I tried Keiran's method as recorded in his blog, but it is for Panther and I was copying to Jaguar Server. Anyway, the FireWire method works, in case anyone else runs into this problem. Thanks,

David
