javamail-1.3.2 is a directory? You should have mail.jar instead of a directory in there

Well, mail.jar only really needs to be within the CLASS_PATH. Extending the classpath definition to suit is well within the guidelines from Sun.

Anyway, the problem I had was that whilst I was adjusting the 'compile-time' CLASS_PATH, I had not adjusted the 'run-time' classpath and as such it was failing... but, in the end, I went a different route by creating a JavaMail.framework and installing it in /Library/Frameworks/ and this works well.

with regards,
