passing parameters to webboject application

we have an application that's running using application server other than
webobjects with mysql at the back end. now i'm working on a new module
that would be a part of that application but developed using webobjects.
so i have to do a kind of integration b/w 2 different applications and
using different databases. the users will login at the main application
which will have a link to the webobjects application. now i need to pass
some parameters (i.e. user specific info) from the main site to the
webobjects app. but i don't know how i can access the parameters passed,
will i use some worequest object. any code sample would be really helpful
