Just wondering if anyone has used WireHose?
yes. :-)
Is it worth it?
That depends. Look at what your application needs. Look at what the
WireHose API provides. How much time will that save you? How much
will the licenses for WireHose cost? Can you bill the client for the
value or does using WireHose result in less billable for you?
What do people like or dislike about it?
I like that it does a lot of things that I seem to need in each
application. The downside is that it is a lot like WO: very large
and not over extensively documented. No, I won't be writing
Practical WireHose. :-P
I need to do a new app for a client. Mainly a database of
products with a bit of extranet features.
User? Permissions? External sources of information? Localization?
Changable layouts? You will have to asses the functionality fit. I
can tell you that Gary does very nice work. WireHose would not be
out of place integrated into WebObjects.
