Thanks for the info. We're considering attempting the same thing.
I'm not ready to move to the WO 5.3 dev tools, but would like to
upgrade our Tiger servers from 5.2.4 to 5.3, so we won't have to
worry about it later, and can just upgrade our dev boxes to 5.3 when
the time comes.
Our site is also quite high traffic upwards of 12 requests/sec. So
it's important that it goes smoothly so we won't have to scramble to
roll back to 5.2.4.

G'day all.
I'm just posting this for information. Perhaps it's useless,
perhaps it will be of help to someone, perhaps I just need a blog
in English :-).
I've been postponing upgrading my customers' WO servers to Tiger,
since that would mean upgrading everyone at the same time (if going
Apple's supported route). Last week, one of my larger customers
insisted on attempting an upgrade, so we upgraded his server to WO
5.3 and Tiger last Sunday. Now it's been three days and everything
is running quite well, the app even feels a little bit faster and
uses less memory.
We did not recompile the app nor the custom frameworks, the 5.2.4
versions seem to run fine. And this app receives quite some load
or up to 4-5 requests per second (99% direct actions, almost no
component actions).
So. Running WO 5.2.4 apps on a WO 5.3 setup is *not* recommended by
Apple. But in my case it seems to be running fine, and if you're
facing the problems I was (due to having many customers hosting
their own sites), upgrading might be worth a try. At your own risk.
With backups. and safety goggles.
Cheers,
