OK, Ted Goldstein (VP Development Technologies) just stated in the
Webobjects Tools session that:
"We don't care where you deploy - we're not going to chase after you".
He emphasized that Mac OS X Server is the chosen future for WO
deployments, and they're going to work the most on this. If someone
reports a bug, and they don't test it on OS X Server, it will get
lower priority (especially if it works ok on OS X).
It's also pretty clear that, to use the Webobjects application server
from 5.3 on other platforms legally, you should buy Mac OS X Server
so that you have a deployment license.
If anyone present got a different read, please speak up!

Chuck,
I'm pretty sure what that actually means is that you can deploy in
any J2SE on _OS X_.
I highly appreciate your insight on the issue, but for the sake of
it and for everybody who cannot visit WWDC this year: would you
mind asking someone from Apple for us so that we can get some sort
of official statement on that licensing bit (where can I deploy, on
what platform, do I still need a license, why does Apple still sell
5.2 in its online store...)
Are you listening, Cliff Tuel? Anyone else with official information?
Thanks for your statement...
Ralph
