Hi Gino
An excellent suggestion and it works, after a little fiddling.
Replacing the faulty alias with a folder of the same name allows the
build to proceed further, but then it sets up an alias for the .woa
file. This alias also points to itself. I have to put a file with
the myapp.woa name in the correct location. Then the new build
replaced it and I seem to have success.
There is another gotcha. If I use 'clean' it removes the contents
of /Users/denisstanton/Projects/Products/Deployment/ and goes back to
making self-referencing aliases again
Thanks for your help with the work around. I hope Apple fix this
soon. Maybe it doesn't occur with some difference preference
setting, but I haven't found out how.

The best solution I have used is to actually create the offending

I've tried building a couple wo 5.3 framework projects under the

mkdir: /Users/steadj/Development/LabInfoModel/trunk/build/
Deployment/LabInfoModel.framework: Too many levels of symbolic links
As this is a mkdir error I'd expect it to be OS or filesystem
dependent, but the error is definitely new after the xcode
install and not any os x rev. Has anyone else seen this?

I'm getting this same error since upgrading to Xcode 2.1. I'm not
doing anything with frameworks though, this is just a simple WO
project that used to build fine. The dev build works, but the
deploy build creates a file that is an alias of itself, causing
the error message.
mkdir: /Users/denisstanton/Projects/HireSQL/build/Deployment/
_WOServerHire.tmp: Too many levels of symbolic links
...failed Mkdir /Users/denisstanton/Projects/HireSQL/build/
Deployment/_WOServerHire.tmp ...
_If I do get info on WOServerHire.tmp it tells me that the
original is /Users/.../_WOServerHire.tmp . i.e it is an alias
pointing to itself
