Florijan,

in case you are developing / deploying on the Mac, you should also take into account that JFreeCharts and JCharts have some issues with AWT-specific stuff (particularly antialiasing) on Mac OS X (with all 1.3.x and 1.4.x JDKs). The OS X AWT tends to blur straight lines and has some other issues - this does not happen on other platforms.

If you don't care for those issues or if you are on Windows, that's probably ok, but if you want something that works everywhere, look here:

This is a commercial framework, but it's really affordable and the API is also nicer than JFreeChart.
